What People Say!
Shop Alert has been installed at The O2 in South-East London since 2009 and was upgraded in 2015 to the latest Alert 2020 IP-based system, providing excellent day-to-day communication and security facilities between security teams and tenants across the estate. Stefan Thompson, Duty Security Manager at The O2, said: “The upgrade to Shop Alert 2020 has made the system more versatile and useful in our environment. Messages can be sent to each of our units which can inform them of a late start or finish to events in the Arena. Also, with any missing children or security-related incidents, we can inform all the units at once. “The tenant log book is also electronically installed onto the Shop Alert unit now. This has easy to follow guidelines and means that the tenants will always have a copy at hand. The Lock Down App which was created for us by Shop Alert has meant that we can devise a lock down situation if there is ever an armed marauding attack. “The effectiveness of having a PIR in each of the units allows the Control Room to see if there is any movement in a unit. This is essential after any evacuation or during lock down hours. “Shop Alert’s service level is exceptional. We are never left for more than a day before an engineer is dispatched to the site – that is if the problem can’t be solved by an engineer logging on remotely. “I would recommend Shop Alert 2020 to any shopping centre or entertainment venue as a way of effectively maintaining a 2-way link between your control room and the tenant units.”

Duty Security Manager at The O2Following the successful installation of Shop Alert 2020 at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull in 2016, General Manager Andy Cole said: “Shop Alert became a powerful tool overnight for Touchwood. Not only does it offer the security benefits of very quick response for security and tenant services, but also a fantastically efficient way to communicate with our tenants through the email and messaging system. “Within seconds we can notify about lost children, upcoming events, recycling targets, inspections, audits, information and the odd fun interaction, to name but a few. Retailers bought into the scheme very quickly, as it is much more direct than a retail radio system.”

Frank Gee
Managing Director
Frank has a pedigree in the UK security industry stretching back more than 35 years. In 1982, he co-founded Keybury Fire and Security, which remains one of the north’s longest established independent fire and security companies. In 1994, Frank developed a business plan with Tony Lamb and together they set up Shop Alert, the UK shopping centre security systems provider, and expanded the company’s portfolio to encompass First Alert, the water utility protection system, bringing both counter-terror services under the Alert Innovation umbrella.
Tony Lamb
Innovation Director
Tony is also a high-profile figure in the UK and European security industry, again with decades of hands-on experience in designing innovative solutions and products to protect sensitive infrastructure. The terrorist incident in a Nairobi Shopping Mall several years ago prompted his return to the core business of Alert Innovation to oversee and develop further Apps for the Shop Alert system for protecting ‘crowded places,’ based on the NaCTSO guidelines. Key among them is the Firearm and Weapons Attack App, purpose-designed to complement the very successful Bomb Warning and Evacuation App.
Tom Gee
UK Sales Director
Tom has worked in the security and safety sector for over two decades. His industry-wide remit has since expanded extensively. He took over as sales director of Alert Innovation in 2019, a high-profile role which incorporates the UK shopping centre security systems provider Shop Alert and the First Alert water utility company portfolio. Tom’s all-encompassing industry expertise makes him one of the UK’s most experienced specialists in his chosen field.
